Do these steps before putting your house on the market and you can say, “SOLD!” faster.

• Clear the clutter. You want buyers to see you house, not your stuff. Unload built-in bookshelves and place only 3-5 books and 1 decorative piece per shelf.
• Clean up. Hire a professional maid or service to come in and do a good top to bottom scrubbing.
• Start packing. You’re going to be moving and buyers don’t want to see moving boxes everywhere.
• Update the look. Take down dated window coverings and replace with lighter airy ones. Replace bath accessories with a luxurious set that matches. Replace worn or dated carpet and flooring. Lighten up the paint inside and out if necessary.
• Plant flowers or place flowerpots. Always keep the outside well kept and inviting.
• Emphasize the home’s features. Put reading chairs in front of big windows. Decorate hallway nooks. Put candles in an unused or mock fireplace. Put lounge chairs and a fire pit on your deck or patio; don’t forget the grill!
